Meeting the Worldwide Mothers' Union President

What a joy for members of St Richards Mothers Union Heather, Mary and Angela, to meet the newly elected World Wide President Sheran Harper at her recent visit to Hayward’s Heath. 

Sheran was making a whirlwind visit to Chichester diocese, visiting our caravan and hospital projects, attending Evensong at Chichester Cathedral and meeting members at a 'bring and share' lunch in Haywards Heath. She shared with us her early experience of MU members nurturing and supporting her as a young mum in her native Guyana. As her faith and confidence grew she took on more practical roles in the organisation and felt privileged to now be the World Wide President.

All too soon she left to catch the train, enroute to Coventry, for Thy Kingdom Come Global Service at the Cathedral. Immediately after that she travels to Rwanda  for the Worldwide Council. An historic event as it will be the first time that MU leaders from across the world will meet outside of the UK.
