The Church of England in Your Community
Below is a video giving a unique insight into the building of St George's church and its dedication in 1959 by the then Bishop of Lewes, the Rt. Rev. G H Warde MA.
The footage was taken from a cini film which was recorded by Bernard Burn-Copeland, who is believed to have been Churchwarden at the time. His wife later found the film in their loft and lent it to church members who had it converted digitally and uploaded onto YouTube.
The majority of those seen in the dedication ceremony can be named, with one couple and the offspring of many, still living locally.
